What are the latest office furniture trends in Riyadh and Saudi Arabia?
From Vision-2030-driven workspace transformations to the rise of hybrid setups — what KSA offices are buying in 2026.
The Saudi office market is going through its biggest shift in a generation. Vision-2030 projects, the rise of NEOM, and the expansion of the Riyadh business district have all pulled office design into a more global, ergonomic-first mindset. Here is what we are seeing buyers ask for in 2026.
1. Mesh-back ergonomic as the new baseline
Old-school heavy leather chairs are giving way to breathable mesh. The reason is practical — Riyadh summers cook leather in offices that face the sun, and the mesh-back generation lasts longer with less maintenance.
2. Hybrid-ready setups
More companies are letting staff split time between HQ and home. That means buying chairs in pairs — one for HQ and a comparable model for the home office — so the body never has to "switch" between two chairs.
3. Sit-stand desks alongside the chair
Electric sit-stand desks are now mainstream in mid-tier Saudi offices. The shift means chairs need a wider height range and an easy-to-reach lift lever — features that older chairs lack.
4. Sustainable upholstery
Recycled polyester, FSC-certified wood arms and water-based finishes are showing up on RFPs from large Saudi corporates. Sustainability is moving from a "nice to have" to a procurement requirement.
5. Saudi-inspired colour palettes
Designers are mixing global ergonomic frames with KSA-inflected accents — sand neutrals, oasis greens, deep reds inspired by the Najd region. Chair suppliers that offer custom upholstery colours are winning the large fit-out contracts.
6. Wellness corners
Open-plan offices are dedicating one corner to wellness — a recline chair with an ottoman, soft lighting, and a low table. The "third space" between the desk and the meeting room.
What stays constant
Quality, warranty, and after-sales service still decide most deals. A trend will not save you from a chair that breaks in year two.
